One Killed, Two Wounded In Home Invasion Triple Shooting In Trenton: Prosecutor

One man was killed and two others wounded in what investigators say was a home invasion in Trenton Wednesday evening.

Officers responding to the shooting near the 200 block of Hewitt Street found a man with a gunshot wound to the hand around 7:15 p.m., Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. He was taken to Capital Health Medical Center for treatment.

An on-scene investigation found that two more gunshot victims had arrived at St. Francis Medical Center: one man was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg, while a third victim, Jomar Rodriguez, 29, of Trenton, was shot multiple times in the chest and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives believe the incident to be a home invasion based on preliminary investigations.
